I came home from work last weekend and I had a strange desire to pack the family in the car and just go for a drive.
At the point in time when I was having the urge to just go, there was really no destination and no time constraint on were we could go except for work in the morning. I told the kids that they need to get ready so that we could leave.
The misses and I needed to get ready as well. After about a half hour or so of everyone getting ready, I had an idea of where to go.

The Misses ( Lifeasleels.com ) had a chance to get behind the wheel of the 2015 Lexus NX 200t F sport for a test drive. So we loaded the family up and drove it around town.
We took surface streets and freeways and the 200t F Sport was never in short supply of power even in the ECO setting. Lexus gave the 200t F Sport a 2.0 liter turbo 4 cylinder motor pushing out 235 horses and 258 foot pounds of torque. When you moved the 200t F Sports performance setting to Sport it brought this SUV to life. We were able to have both of us and the three kids in the 2oot F Sport and it was still able to push all of us back in our seat when needing to pass someone on the freeway. The 6 speed automatic transmission and the throttle became more responsive and you could feel the increase in power. With the optional manual setting, the addition of the paddle shifters, and the sport tuned suspension the 200t F Sport could handle anything the everyday driver can throw at it….
A Day Fishing with Grandpa
I have to say this put a huge smile on my face. Being able to take my kids out fishing with my dad is an amazing feeling.
I remember growing up and every time that my family would go on vacation or a trip my parents always made it a point that we tried to go fishing. I loved that opportunity to spend time with my dad side by side fishing. Looking on it now I wish i could do it more but life gets in the way some times.
Recently it worked out that me and my dad had the same day off and the kids were out of school, so we took them fishing. I think I was more excited then the kids were when it came to going fishing with my dad. Just to play its safe we took the kids to one of the local parks that had a pond with a play ground just in case….
Shrimp hot from the grill
Thanks to Cave Tools for sending me out their Stainless Steel Kabob Set to try out. Not only did I not have a Kabob set but I was supper excited to try out a recipe I had found on pinterest, so this was perfect timing.
When I first opened up the box I noticed that the Kabob skewers were flat which looked odd to me. Until I started putting the shrimp on the skewers I noticed that it keep them from rotating or shifting as I slid the next one on. This made it very easy to ensure that all my shrimp were facing the same direction which was very handy.
With the skewers being made out of stainless steel I did not have to worry about burning them on the grill or having to soak them in water before i use them….
Save your self the headache and maybe be the hero and save the day for your kids – always have a back up for your kid’s favorite stuffed animal or.
I know growing up I had my favorite stuffed animal that I still have to this day and I could not image how I would have felt if I lost it.
When I had kids, I did not know if they would become attached to anything like a blanket or stuffed animal to the extent that not having it around would cause unforeseeable meltdowns….
